Fluorescein, uranine - EXTRA quality 100 g / 250 g / 1 kg

Fluorescein (uranine) is a dye that fluoresces green/yellow under daylight and fluoresces under UV light. Its color intensity and fluorescence properties make it an extremely effective measuring instrument that can be used for many applications. Fluorescein is available as a red/orange powder or as a concentrated liquid solution of 10% and 30%.

Key features
  • Fluorescein is non-polluting, non-toxic, and biodegradable, an essential quality in all areas of application. As such, fluorescein is used in natural and medical environments.
  • Fluorescein is a dye with powerful coloring power and a very vivid color (green/yellow fluorescent) that allows for quick and unambiguous visual identification.
  • Fluorescein is a non-destructive detection agent that allows valuable information to be gathered before heavy, expensive, and sometimes fruitless work is carried out... It can be combined with other tracers (multi-tracing) to map complex networks of pipelines, pipes, multiple patio covers, etc.
  • Fluorescein has fluorescent properties, making it detectable in very low doses with a fluorimetric instrument and enabling tracing in natural environments.
  • The fluorescence of fluorescein under UV light also makes it a highly accurate and effective diagnostic tool for detecting infiltration in buildings, capillary rise, searching for micro-leaks in hard-to-reach, poorly lit areas, etc.
  • Fluorescein does not adhere well to absorbent materials, which facilitates its use and cleaning. However, in some sensitive cases, it is preferable to use other colorless tracers (only visible under UV) that we have specially formulated for this type of application.
Applications
  • Experts in hydrogeology and speleology use tracers such as fluorescein for various environmental studies, transit and flow time studies, river flow measurements, leakage control of underground layers, etc.
  • The geothermal industry, which uses fluorescein to track the spread of hot water flows in the sea.
  • Maritime and aviation safety, which uses fluorescein as a visual marker in the event of a disaster at sea, to facilitate the location of victims during rescue operations.
  • Plumbers/heating engineers who use fluorescein to trace pipes, locate leaks in drinking water networks, and locate leaks in underfloor heating networks.
  • Specialists in real estate diagnostics and leak detection, forensic engineers, who use fluorescein to investigate hydraulic connections in basements, detect leaks, investigate the path of infiltration water...
  • Roofers/waterproofers, who use this dye for waterproofing tests and to locate leak zones before or after roofing work on roofs/terraces/balconies...
  • Swimming pool specialists use fluorescein in liquid solution to detect leaks in private and communal swimming pools.
  • Municipalities, local authorities, and water treatment companies use fluorescein dye for flow tests and compliance tests on sewerage and stormwater drainage networks.
  • The chemical and petrochemical industries inject fluorescein to validate the compliance and watertightness of underwater pipelines.
